Refunds & Cancellation
This policy applies to Bright Meadow Learning (ABN 39 973 076 064). Read it with our Terms of Service. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Trial and subscription payments
The free trial lasts 14 days from registration and needs no card. You will not be charged unless you choose to subscribe. If you subscribe with more than 48 hours left, the remaining trial carries over. With 48 hours or less left, subscribing starts the paid period and charges you immediately, as shown at checkout. Wait until the trial ends if you want to use the whole free period before paying.
Subscriptions renew monthly in advance: A$5 for the first unpaused child, A$3 for the second and no extra charge for further children. The minimum subscription charge is A$5 a month, including when all profiles are paused or deleted. Prices include GST where applicable; we are not registered for GST at launch.
Cancelling your subscription
- Choose Parent Area โ Account & billing โ Manage billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal and cancel.
- Cancellation takes effect on the date shown in the portal, normally at the end of the current billing period. You keep access for the period you have paid for, subject to the Terms of Service. To avoid the first payment on a trialling subscription, cancel before its scheduled payment date.
- When cancellation takes effect, play pauses. Your profiles and progress remain available for when you return.
- Cancelling does not automatically refund a payment, create a credit for unused days or waive charges already incurred. Consumer-law remedies are explained below.
If you cannot access the portal, contact admin@brightmeadowlearning.com for help.
Adding, pausing or deleting a child
Adding or resuming a child during a paid period can increase the price. The increase for the remaining part of that period is prorated and added to the next invoice. The price increase is shown for confirmation before the change. There is no extra charge for children after the second.
Pausing or deleting a child lowers the next renewal price only when it changes the price tier. No current-period refund or credit is created, and earlier upgrade adjustments remain payable. Pausing keeps the child's profile and progress but stops their play; deleting removes their profile and learning records.
Pausing or deleting every child does not cancel the subscription. The A$5 minimum continues until you cancel. Children linked from another parent's account are billed on their owner's account.
Deleting the whole account
Successful account deletion cancels the subscription immediately, ends access and waives pending upgrade adjustments that have not yet been invoiced. It does not automatically refund payments already made or waive invoices already issued. This differs from pausing a child or cancelling for the end of the billing period.
Deletion removes your owned child profiles and their progress and plans. Some account, billing, audit and AI usage records remain; see the Privacy Policy. If billing cancellation fails, deletion does not finish: retry or contact us.
Failed payments and administrative pauses
If a failed charge makes a subscription past due, play continues for seven days from when our system first records that status, then pauses until payment is resolved. Retries do not restart the grace period. Failed payments and paused play do not cancel the subscription or erase unpaid invoices.
If an administrator suspends an account or grants temporary complimentary access, we request a pause in Stripe collection. Billing may resume when the administrative pause or complimentary period ends. Permanent complimentary access cancels an existing subscription. None of these actions automatically refunds earlier payments; statutory rights still apply.
Refunds and Australian Consumer Law
We do not offer a general change-of-mind refund or a refund just because you did not use the Service. That does not affect a refund or other remedy you are entitled to by law.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure, you can cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or keep the service and seek compensation for its reduced value. For a failure that can be fixed and is not major, you can require us to fix it within a reasonable time. If we do not, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or recover reasonable costs of having it fixed elsewhere. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, including a renewal charged after cancellation should have taken effect, contact us. We will investigate and refund any overcharge. A higher bill can include an earlier prorated upgrade, even if you later paused or deleted a child.
How to request a refund
Email admin@brightmeadowlearning.com with your account email, the payment date and amount, and a short description of the problem. You can also write to 8 Karragata Ct, Tallebudgera QLD 4228. Do not send full card details. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify the payment and assess your request.
We will explain the outcome and arrange any refund due through Stripe to the original payment method where possible. Bank processing times vary. You do not need to delete your account to request a refund, and these steps do not restrict your legal remedies.
